SUCCESS IN THE INTERNET

It seems as if the entertainment world ravishes over Karen Civil, a now internet hip hop icon success. Karen Civil who is from Elizabeth, NJ has become successful through using social media to brand herself and helping others such as BeatsbyDRE and Rapper Phenom Lil Wayne. She is now social media manager for BeatsByDRE. I personally am intrigued to research this lady more because she is in the field that I dream of being successful in in the near future. I became a fan of social media once I understood that it would be the next major platform for marketing and promotion. My love for music and wanting to help people. Karen Civil is one of the prime examples of success that I personally would like to reach. KC once worked for diplomat records and worked with the phenome group DipSet out of Harlem, NY as well was able to interview Drake and Nicki Minaj which were shown on her website before they made it big. She created her website karencivil.com to help artist get more exposure because she felt lots of artist did not get proper recognition and spotlight unless they were in XXL or the SOURCE MAG. Her mantra is “Always be you, always live Civil”. Being a black female success in the industry I’m sure is a challenge but she states she handles it and may have to check a few people occasionally. I definitely am eager to keep watching this awesome lady and possibly one day meet and talk with her and network and learn something that will help me throughout my career.
