Solid Foundations… Community is KEY

LeBron James is a famous basketball player from Akron Ohio. He was once a kid from poverty born into the struggle yet LeBron was drafted into the NBA straight out of high school. As he has progressed in his career he has not forgotten where his life started at. LeBron has created a program and foundation for the children in the inner city that he grew up in. The Program is called “iPromise”, he initially started by highlighting students that excel well in school and then he expanded to the current 2017-2018 3rd grade students in the Akron Public School district. He provides the children and their families with awesome opportunities. During the summer before the school year starts he treats all the children in the program to a family day at Sandusky’s Amusement park “Cedar Point”. Recently in December 2017 he took the 3rd grade children to experience the “Polar Express” train ride. LeBron has partnered with major corporations and businesses such as CHASE Bank, the University of Akron and so many more. The next thing we can expect is the LeBron James School that will be in Akron, Ohio. I consider him a philanthropist and a great example for this generation and the next to look up to and be inspired.
